  • Reviews only from real, paid bookings

No drive-by ratings. One review per booking, written blind by both sides.

  • Background checks with dates, not vague badges

Every badge says what was checked, who checked it and when.

  • Location only at clock-in, never off shift

Read once to confirm arrival at your home during a booked shift.

How it works

Four steps, then it just runs.

The same app does three jobs. Pick yours and see how a week of care comes together.

  1. 01

    Tell us about your family

Kids' ages, your schedule, your neighborhood and what matters to you. Your kids' names and photos stay private until you book.

  2. 02

    See profiles ranked by fit

Schedule overlap, distance, rate, experience with your kids' ages and reliability. Never looks. Tap Interested, Not now or Top pick.

  3. 03

Connect, then book a paid trial

Chat opens once you are both interested. A paid trial shift is one tap, and your card is only charged after the shift.

  4. 04

Watch the shift as it happens

Arrival confirmed at home, a live timeline of meals, naps and photos, and a Live Activity on your Lock Screen.

Nanny Discover tab showing Elena Rossi, a nanny share pro at $29 an hour, with a Great fit band, schedule and dated verification badges.
Matching

Matching that fits your family.

Profiles are ranked on what actually makes care work: schedule, distance, rate, experience with your kids' ages and reliability. Never looks. You see a fit band, not a score about a person.

  • Fit, explained

“Free for all your hours” and “under 1 mi away” show why someone is near the top.

  • Interested, Not now, Top pick

Mark who you like. A Top pick lifts you in their list with a label.

  • Connected means both sides

Chat opens only when you are both interested. No cold messages, no spam.

  • Nanny shares built in

Meet nearby families with overlapping hours and split one great nanny.

Messages: chats with Amara Okafor and Lucia Hernandez, and upcoming bookings including a live recurring shift and a requested paid trial.
Discover: Elena Rossi, nanny share pro at $29 an hour. Free for all your hours, under 1 mi away, background check Aug 12, ID verified Aug 21, CPR Aug 3, references Jul 25.
During the shift

Watch the shift, not a camera.

Arrival is confirmed at your home when the caregiver clocks in. From there, a live timeline fills in as the day goes: meals, naps, diapers, photos and notes, with a Live Activity on your Lock Screen.

  • Arrival confirmed at home

Location is read once, at clock-in, during a booked shift. Never off shift.

  • A live timeline

Meals, naps, diapers, activities, mood and photos, in the order they happened.

  • Incidents you acknowledge

Time, details, a photo and the action taken. You confirm you have read it.

  • An emergency card per child

Allergies, medications and contacts, shown to the caregiver only during the booking.

Caregiver Shifts tab: clocked in 7:10 PM, booked until 4:12 AM, $88.20 earned so far, quick updates for meal, nap, diaper and photo, and emergency cards for Mila and Theo.
Family tab: Amara Okafor on shift now for 3:09:05, arrived 7:10 PM, confirmed at home. Last update 39 minutes ago: down at 10:30 in the crib.

For daycares

Daycare, run right.

Rooms and ratios at a glance, check-in and verified pickup at the door, daily reports to parents and enrollment that does not need a clipboard. Parents see it all next to their nanny's shifts: one timeline, one calendar.

  • Rooms and ratios

Live counts against your state ratio, with staff on duty per room.

  • Check-in and verified pickup

Parent PIN or QR at drop-off, authorized adults and code words at pickup.

  • Enrollment in one sitting

Parents finish the packet from one link. You review and approve.

  • Tuition, waitlist and staff

Autopay, openings, a waitlist, staff and attendance in the same place.

Daycare Rooms screen: Cubs, toddlers, 5 of 8 enrolled, 3 open, ratio 1 adult per 6 children, staff on duty and a send daily reports button.
Daycare Today screen: Cubs 3 of 12, Owls 4 of 24, Bees 3 of 4, with a check-in roster and peanut and dairy allergy flags.
Circles

Your neighborhood, verified.

Circles are groups of verified parents by neighborhood or school. Ask a question, recommend a caregiver you love, find a nanny share partner or plan a playdate. Everyone posts under their name.

  • Recommendations with consent

Link a caregiver who is on Nanny and has opted in to being recommended.

  • Nanny shares, found nearby

Post a share wanted and meet families a mile away with the same hours.

  • No anonymous posts

Posts read “Maria, verified parent in Echo Park”. People stay accountable.

  • Concerns go privately

Posts about a named caregiver's conduct are routed to Trust and Safety, never a public thread.

Circles: Echo Park parents. Posts from verified parents looking for a nanny share partner and recommending Lucia Hernandez, a bilingual nanny.

Trust and safety

We say what we check, who checks it, and when.

No checkmark means “trust us”. Every badge is dated and names the company that ran it. Checks lower risk, they never replace your judgment, so we also make it easy to interview, call references and speak up.

  • PhoneChecked by NannyWhen: At sign upA one-time code confirms a real, reachable number.
  • IDChecked by Stripe IdentityWhen: At sign up, shown with the dateA government ID and a selfie are checked by Stripe. We keep the result and the date, never the images.
  • Background checkChecked by CheckrWhen: Renews every yearCaregivers order their own check with FCRA disclosure and consent. Parents see “Cleared on” and the date, never the report.
  • CPR and first aidChecked by Nanny reviewWhen: Until the certificate expiresThe caregiver uploads the certificate. We check the name and the expiry date before the badge shows.
  • ReferencesChecked by Nanny reviewWhen: Dated when confirmedAt least two references, each contacted and confirmed before the badge shows.
  • Driving recordChecked by Checkr, optionalWhen: Renews every yearFor caregivers who drive kids. Shown only if the caregiver chooses to run it.
  • Reviews you can trust

Only after a completed, paid booking. Both sides write blind and publish together. The person reviewed can reply once. Reviews come down only for breaking policy, never for being negative.

  • No labels on people

No red flags, no safety scores, no AI summaries of a person. You read what was checked and what real families wrote.

  • Concerns go to people, privately

Reports go straight to our Trust and Safety team and are never published. Urgent reports pause the account while we review.

  • Your kids' details stay need to know

Allergies, medications and emergency contacts are visible to a caregiver only while a booking with that child is active.

  • Location on shift only

Read once at clock-in to confirm arrival at your home, during a shift the caregiver booked. Never tracked off shift.

  • Accountable, never anonymous

No anonymous posts. No messages before both sides are interested. Report and block on every profile, message, review and post.

Questions

The straight answers.

Still curious? Write to us from the support page and a person will reply.

  • Caregivers order their own background check through Checkr, a consumer reporting agency, after an FCRA disclosure and written consent. Checkr runs the check and handles any dispute directly with the caregiver. Families see a badge that says “Cleared on” with the date, never the report itself. Checks renew every year, and an expired check stops showing.

  • Before you book, caregivers see your kids' ages, your schedule and your neighborhood, never names, photos or your address. Allergies, medications, conditions and emergency contacts are visible only to the caregiver during an active booking with that child, and to family members you give access to.

  • Only a completed, paid booking can be reviewed, once per side, within 14 days. Reviews are double blind: both publish together, or when the window closes, so nobody writes in reaction to the other. The person reviewed can reply once in public. We remove reviews only when they break our policy, never for being negative, and nobody can pay to remove one.

  • Only when a caregiver clocks in to a booked shift, to confirm arrival at the family's home. It is read with consent and a state notice, and it is never read off shift. If GPS is poor, the caregiver can clock in manually with a reason, and the family sees that.

  • Joining is free for everyone. Parents pay a booking fee of 6% (minimum $1.99), or 3% (minimum $0.99) with Nanny Plus. For regular care, recurring schedules and nanny shares, fees stop at $59 a month per caregiver on Free and $39 on Plus. Caregivers keep 100% of their pay plus tips. Plus cancels anytime in one tap.

  • Possibly. In 2026, if you pay one household employee $3,000 or more in a year, you are usually a household employer and owe payroll taxes. Nanny keeps track of what you have paid each caregiver, tells you when you cross the threshold and hands you off to a payroll partner. We do not give tax advice, so check with a tax professional.

  • Cancel free 24 hours or more before the start. Under 24 hours, the caregiver is paid 50% of the booked pay. Under 2 hours, or if no one is home, the caregiver is paid in full. Cancellation pay is capped at 4 hours. Caregivers who cancel late or do not show get a reliability strike, and 3 in 90 days pauses their profile.

  • Your center sends you an enrollment link. You complete the packet in the app in one sitting: child details, health, emergency contacts, authorized pickups, immunization record, signatures and tuition payment. The center reviews it and approves, and your child shows up on their roster.

  • Your report goes privately to our Trust and Safety team, never to a public feed, and the person is not told who reported them. Urgent reports, such as a child's safety or a threat, pause the account while a person reviews it. If a child is in danger, call 911 first. For suspected abuse, Childhelp is at 1-800-422-4453.

  • No. Nanny is a marketplace and a set of tools. Families and centers choose and hire caregivers, set their own rates and schedules and are responsible for their hiring decisions. We do not employ caregivers, set rates or assign shifts.
